  • About The Role

  • Chemonics UK is seeking a highly skilled Financial Systems Senior Business Analyst with deep expertise in SAP Business ByDesign for Finance & Accounting. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of how SAP Business ByDesign supports business capabilities, value streams, and drives measurable business outcomes is required. The Financial Systems Senior Business Analyst will coordinate across business process owners and the Technology Department to understand operational strengths and weaknesses, envision performance improvement opportunities, and offer functional solutions for positive business outcomes. 

    The senior business analyst will assist in business process redesign and documentation as needed for new features and manage user stories in Azure DevOps using Agile Scrum methodologies. They will translate high level business requirements from the Finance Team into functional specifications for the Technology Department and manage changes to the specifications. They will assist in negotiating agreements and commitments between the Finance Team/business users and the Technology Department by bridging the gap between business needs, technology, and contractors.

    The senior business analyst will maintain an understanding of the SAP Business ByDesign Financial system technology trends and use this knowledge to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial management, reporting, and integration. They will facilitate decision-making of governance boards and committees, including presentation of options using financial models. They will facilitate decisions to ensure that any implementation follows Chemonics’ Enterprise Architecture principles. 
     
    Main Responsibilities:
     
    • Maintains an understanding of business drivers and processes for Finance & Accounting.
    • Works closely with the Chemonics’ value stream leaders to design and implement solutions that enable achievement of company goals and enhance value stream process efficiency.
    • Analyzes and leads the implementation of modification and configuration in SAP Business ByDesign based on business capabilities requirements, including revenue recognition and timesheets.
    • Proactively mitigates issues and exploits opportunities to enhance functionality for continuous improvement of value streams.
    • Maintains current knowledge of technology trends, new features in SAP Business ByDesign, and emerging technologies to enable current and evolving business outcomes across value streams.
    • Maintains current knowledge of, evaluates, and supports selection of Independent Software Vendor solutions.
    • Coordinates with the developers and supports partners on application enhancements.
    •  Leads user acceptance testing and writes test scripts.
    • Assists in business process redesign and documentation. 
    • Supports successful evaluation of options and decision-making of application governance bodies, including creating prototypes.
    • Supports project management using Agile Scrum for successful solution implementation.
    • Analyzes the business-IT environment (run, grow and transform the business) to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement.
    • Defines the principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with Chemonics’ enterprise architecture principles and future-state architecture vision.
    • Identifies the organizational impact and fiscal impact of the functional solutions developed.
    • Works with Project Managers on projects/issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments. 
    • Work with teams in UK, US, and project teams located around the world.
    • Support the development and delivery of SAP Business ByDesign training to build capacity of business users to understand and use the system. 
    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
    Person Specification:
     
    Essential
     
    •  Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, finance, or accounting required; SAP Business ByDesign Certification preferred.
    • Experience designing solutions for various modules in SAP Business ByDesign required, including experience with revenue recognition and timesheets.
    • Advanced to expert level knowledge and understanding of Finance & Accounting business processes required, including project, time sheets and revenue recognition.
    • 8 to 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst required, preferably with multiple SAP Business ByDesign implementations including cloud solutions support.
    •  Advanced capabilities using Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Project, and Visio.
    •  Experience in supporting, enhancing, and integrating with enterprise financial solutions such as D365 and QuickBooks. 
    •  Experience working with Solutions Architects, Application Developers, and deployment operations.
    •  Experience managing Agile Scrum implementations in Azure DevOps.
    •  Experience as an IT project leader working on issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge of business segments.
    •  Exceptional people skills, teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation. 
    • Strong leadership skills; excellent analytical, technical, planning, and organizational skills. 
    • Experience in facilitating change management across the business functions.
    • Experience creating and presenting financial models to estimate the budgetary impact of solution architecture alternatives.
    • Ability to collaborate with developers in both on and offshore environments.
    • Experience proposing and presenting convincing business cases and product roadmaps.
    • Ability to solve complex technical, managerial, or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge.
    • Ability to operate at advanced levels of authority and manage significant activities and resources to produce and take responsibility for results.
    •  Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Demonstrated integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others.
    Desirable 
     
    • Experience from Government contracting or Aid and Development organisations preferred.  
    • Experienced in working with senior level resources across several business functions preferred.
